Hi, I am Aoife, pronounced "ee-fa". An Irish name that looks nothing like it sounds. You are not alone if you had to read it twice! I am a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst and Behaviour Analyst International with nearly a decade of experience using applied behaviour analysis across a wide range of settings. Over time my work has evolved in two directions that I care deeply about. The first is supporting ABA organisations. Having worked as a therapist, supervisor, trainer, and consultant, I have seen first-hand how clinical quality depends not only on what we teach, but on how centres support their teams, structure their systems, and make decisions. At Solas I work with therapy centres and ABA teams across the UAE to strengthen the foundations of ethical, sustainable, person-centred practice. The second is parent support and training. For the last seven years, alongside my consultancy work, I have developed a strong focus on making behaviour science genuinely accessible to families. I now work directly with parents as well as producing content and resources designed to bring the science out of the clinic and into everyday family life. Too often parents are given strategies without being let into the thinking behind them. I want to change that. My approach to ABA is rooted in compassion, dignity, and assent. Learners deserve to be willing participants. Families deserve to be heard and included. And parents deserve to understand the science being applied to their child. When I am not working you will most likely find me with my dog or hunting down something good to eat in Dubai :)
